i absolutely think that speeding should garner more punishment than drug use crimes!

obviously the amount of danger caused by the speeding should be taken into consideration

there's obviously a difference between going 10 mph over in the middle of the night on the freeway and going 40 mph over in a school zone when kids are around

i moved away from a big city because of the traffic

when i heard about a group of local parents who's kids had been killed walking across the crosswalk on the way home from school by speeding drivers

there was an actual group there were so many of them

that i hardly know where to began

you are wrong about the the dynamics of crime punishment and drug use

i could write several books in response to you but will encourage you to read any and all of the Crimnal InJustice Kos series diaries, including the one linked inthis diary

from you previou postings here i know that youa re not mean-spuriretd or nalicious but your comments in this thread are so far off the mark that they read that way

please try to explore this subject further

right now i am looking at foster children to potentially adopt and do you know what the number one reason for foster children is?  take a wild stab.

kids get physically abused, neglected, molested, pimped out, beat to death, etc and all because mommy and/or daddy care more about getting fucked up then they do about their own kids

you know... i am more compassionate toward drug users then i let on above but i don't want to show it around here because i know that plenty of people on the left are abusing drugs and it makes me angry

i am angry because they judge without mercy anyone who doesn't have the 'integrity' to do what they think is just but at the same time they are bankrolling the worst kind of monsters on the planet

maybe they don't know.  maybe they just haven't heard about where their drugs come from.  they know not to buy from target or walmart because those people are evil.  but they have no problem buying drugs from the same people who commit murder and rape and actually enslave people and it all just ok because drugs make them feel so good

they make me sick to my stomach.  i know what drugs do to the families of people who just want to feel good.  they destroy them.

i still remember my wife finding out from work at the pharmacy that the pharmacist had been robbed again.  tied up in telephone wire.  gun to his head the whole time.  didn't know if this time he was going to live or die.

and my friend who was so fucking high he went car surfing on the freeway.  lucky to have survived.

my older brother who's friend de-capitated himself on his motorcycle before school started.

my younger adopted sister who was left alone for days as a new born baby repeatedly because her mom and dad were fucking high

who grew up to be beaten and raped by her ex boyfriend because he was high

you know... i'm not mis informed at all

i just lived close to the destruction and i am angry about it

and i'm not fucking cheering about drugs unless it's about people getting off of them

i agree with that and i said so above

i just have mixed feelings about cheering about it here on daily kos

as for prison not being the answer to anything... i have to assume you misspoke

prison is the answer for many many things
