    ... laissez faire capitalism saying progressives "deplore its vulgar democracy." He went on to ask what could be more democratic than "voting with your wallet" and the "freedom to spend your hard-earned money as you please."

    Carlson was defending a "democracy," though not of the vulgar (of or pertaining to the common people) variety. He defines "democracy" as applied in corporations: one share, one vote. That may work for corporations, but as applied to government - one dollar, one vote - it's called plutocracy.
