I will tell you how I cried at the campfire on Wednesday night.

They were singing songs, Cheryl playing the guitar, (that is executive director of the camp, Cheryl Shchmeidler, playing guitar), and I asked myself what song I wanted to sing.

I wanted to sing, "I'm Going To Go Back There Someday."

    There's not a word yet
for old friends who've just met.
    Part heaven and part space,
or have I found my place?
    You can just visit,
    but I plan to stay.
I'm going to go back there someday.

I cried quietly to myself as I thought of that song.

It is, to me, about the seventies, the newlywed days of Mark and Pam, and the time that song came out, the time The Muppet Movie came out.

    Peace.

    •  That is lovely, bigjac (5+ / 0-)

Thank you so much.  Your camp sounds wonderful and one worthy of support.  I'm a bit strapped right now, but when the next check comes in, I'll be happy to donate.

      Peace to you, dear.

      •  Thank yo so much, in advance, for your (6+ / 0-)

        donation.

I feel that so many Kossacks give so much, but watching those campers with the wish sticks, and hearing them say they want to come back next year, well, I thought of the mighty Daily Kos community.

I think if I repeat that long comment, modified, in a few ROVs, and write a diary, with more links and quotes, and describe more about the campers, the staff, and what the camp is like, and the activities, and what it means to the campers, I feel my diary will get rescued, and the foundation will get some money, a few thousand, maybe many thousands.

It may not work out, but I feel a need to try.

        Peace.
