  •  Dear Media: The Republican Base is Racist!!!! (24+ / 0-)

When will this basic story be covered by ABC, CBS and NBC???

When even partisan hacks like Newt Gingrich are spewing racist at Islam, THIS IS A HUGE FUCKING NEWS STORY.

One of the two major political party has slipped back into 1950s era white fear and reactionary hysterical racism.

Hell, even George W. Bush went out of his way to differentiate the "war on terra" from Islam.

Now, not even two years after George W. Bush left office, the entire republican party no longer even pretends to not be racist.

    They're PROUDLY RACIST.

This is THE defining news story of our day.

Who will cover it????   Chuck Todd?  David Gregory?  Anderson Cooper???

    Anyone???  Bueller???

When she said should the Mosque be built? That's giving the green light for bigotry. Don't people know that al-Qaeda can use their own words for recruitment?

Maybe our soldiers should do a PSA telling the Tea Baggers to "Please don't get us killed you dumbasses!"

Try 20 years earlier and 3,000-5,000 miles to the east (depending on how far away the Rethugs reside from the lands of the Third Reich)!

    •  The following of Islam isn't actually limited to (0+ / 0-)

a single race or ethnic group, actually.

      •  Something Bush just didn't get, BTW. (0+ / 0-)

He thought all Muslims were Arabs, and called Pakistan '..a force for freedom and moderation in the Arab world'.

I suspect quite a few in the US share in that muddled view. Nor do they know that Islam has at least as many sects and denominations as Christianity.

Or that the world's largest Muslim nation by population is -- ta-da! - Indonesia. (On second thoughts, given Obama's background, maybe we should leave that one alone).

Do you really believe that "the entire republican party no longer even pretends to not be racist."?

That strikes me as a ridiculous statement. Can you even conceive that there might be a single Republican that isn't a racist, or more likely MANY such Republicans, or even possibly quite a number of such Republicans?

Unfortunately people have, effectively, two meaningful choices of party if they actually want to join a party that will have much immediate impact on politics in the U.S. - they can pick the Republican or Democrat party. As such, each party is composed of members with a wide range of views that make almost any such categorical statement about its members inaccurate.

This sort of broad and inaccurate stereotypes only serve to hamper any rational message you might have. It's just as when someone says "All Democrats are socialists", intelligent readers of any political persuasion are likely to dismiss the rest of the speaker's message.

      •  the major leaders of the republican party (0+ / 0-)

Can you name one who is speaking out against this level of racism in the republican party today?  I can't name one.  If you can, I'll be amazed.
