    My Dallas-area tomatoes are done for. This has been a terrible tomato year for me.

    At first all looked good, but then the heat set in and the plants lost all their leaves. Neighbor got a few stunning heirlooms, one of which weighed 1# 11 oz. But, all-in-all, our harvests are both awful.

      and the toms got a late start to hot weather.  Up here, all the "old sages" say to put fish manuer on everything.....it works!
      I now have babies on Sweet 100, Green Zebra, Red Pear, Bush Goliath and Oregon Spring. "The Princess", Brandywine, is just thinking about it.
      In Austin, I usually had cherries and romas and they did well. The first year in my house, I had romas at Christmas!
