guaranteeing equality in cocaine/crack sentencing, there have to be some politicians in D.C. not afraid to deal with weed legalization.

This morning the President signed the Fair Sentencing Act, which reduces the disparity in the amounts of powder cocaine and crack cocaine required for the imposition of mandatory minimum sentences and eliminates the mandatory minimum sentence for simple possession of crack cocaine.  It also increases monetary penalties for major drug traffickers.

that is a good law, but it seems like they'd be more afraid to deal with that than pot. . but i guess they are two different sides of a problem.

It seems like this isn't quite full outright legalization, but it would still bring about a massive change in the way it is treated federally (by allowing personal use and some possession). I definitely believe it is a bill that should be passed. I think you have to win battles before you can win the war.
