    because it explains why the Dems went with the 2/3rds approach.  Jon seemed to think the Dems would defeat all the attempted add-ons and then vote for the bill with a simply majority rules.  

    It's the GOP who wanted to play politics by adding on poison pill amendments, and are so craven that they voted down the clean bill because they were not allowed to.  

    Politics is like playing Asteroids - You go far enough to the left and you end up on the right. Or vice-versa.

      that the minority GOP controls the house?

      You make the argument that the dems had no choice but to give into the republicans.

      Well, you know how majority rule goes?  Use it or lose it.

      Watch what happens to these spineless dems in the coming elections.  Then while in the minority they can blame the republicans for everything, just like they do now.
