  •  Heh. And now (6+ / 0-)

the Tea Party is on the ballot in MI with a slate of candidates that includes at least one guy who has run before--as a Democrat.

The baggers are in an uproar over this, of course, and now proclaim that they don't want to be a real party, since they exist only to serve the Republican party.

    •  But... but...I thought there were a lot of (6+ / 0-)

Democratic tea partiers! On primary day, I was reading the Free Press comments to the election coverage and there was a guy talking about how 40% of the Tea Partiers are Democrats.

I asked him politely for a link and then linked to the Gallup poll that said nearly 80% were sympathetic to Republican causes. I then asked him why he thought only Republican politicians were aligning themselves with a group that was nearly 1/2 Democratic in make-up. Surprisingly (not), even though he posted a few other comments he never responded to my post.
