We CAN'T lose any of the Blue Dogs! We HAVE to defend anyone with a D after their name, because the Repugs are EVEN WORSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    •  As long as we retain control of the House of Rep. (5+ / 0-)

the political complection of the House won't change if most of the losses come in southern and western margin seats, occupied by Blue Dogs.

I've been expecting this for some time.

    •  In MD-1, that's certainly true. (0+ / 0-)

But it's not saying much.  Frankly, I'm inclined to write in a name.

They'll redraw Maryland so that the First has a Democratic advantage instead of a dangerously Republican one. Same with the 6th; you can say goodbye to Roscoe Bartlett once his district is extended deep into Montgomery County instead of hugging the entire rural PA border.  The first will go into deep blue Baltimore and out of the biggest rightwing enclaves of Anne Arundel.

And THEN we can primary Kratovil. But we must make sure that MD-01 does not have a GOP incumbent when they redraw.

The Right Wing wants to take America back. The left wing wants to take America forward. Any questions?

        •  Interesting point. (0+ / 0-)

Got a link?  I'd like to see the proposed redistricting lines.

Of course, that presupposes O'Malley wins in November.  Redistricting might prove hard to do if Ehrlich (/boo-hisssssss) wins.  Somebody's got to sign the legislation.

        •  Redistricting is the REAL prize most overlook (3+ / 0-)

This election cycle sets up  entrenched partisan advantage for a full decade in at least 80% of congressional districts. If most states had an Iowa system of drawing legislative boundaries, redistricting would be much less important, but we have to deal with the system that exists now.

To that degree, Gubernatorial and state legislative races are as important as Congressional races this particular cycle.
