There's not going to be anything significant passed the next 2 years even if every single rep returned.

with a Nate Silver article from November 2009?

      Oh great. Just great.

Sometimes I think people around here need meds.

I have REASON to be depressed and I'm not. Instead, I want you to take action. I want you to call this number: 614-299-9630. I want you to urge them to get the candidate out of his cocoon more to meet real voters, and not only make a handful of special appearances and high-dollar fundraisers. Tell them he needs to make his Facebook page more active. Tell them he needs to mend some bridges; that activist Democrats are hungry to hear from him but they're not. Urge them to get him some help with his windy, repetitive speeches.

      •  I agree and you're misreading my point (0+ / 0-)

I'm not telling people to despair, I'm just pointing out that apparent joy over Blue Dog losses is not based in reality, as Congresspeople like Grayson, Periello, Shea-Porter are much more likely to lose their seats than Gene Taylor and Mike Ross are. So yes, supporting your local Dem is very much important. Every seat counts.
And I'm not sure how an article from November 2009 is not suitable. Congress hasn't changed that much since then.

        •  That's based (0+ / 0-)

exclusively on Cook index scores, not their actual probability of losing.

The question is not whether the chickens needed replacing, the question is whether the fox should have been guarding them in the first place.
