If you would like to help, could you all contact our candidate and urge him to start getting out and meeting  voters, actually sending out e-mails, and talking to people about real stuff instead of reciting  his vapid "jobs" speech? Please? We need your help! Also urge him to get a speech writer and a speech coach. He CAN win, but if he doesn't make radical changes in his campaign like NOW, he's not going to.

    •  And there's the rub (0+ / 0-)

Republicans like Angle and Kirk are publicly imploding. Several key Democrats are just doing nothing until their chances of victory get bored and consider going away.

If they're not positioning themselves at all, maybe one thing we could do is to do the positioning for them. Someone has to, and it better not be their opponents...

The Right Wing wants to take America back. The left wing wants to take America forward. Any questions?

Reid could help Fisher greatly by passing a climate change bill and repealing DADT by November.

      •  Jobs would help a lot more. (1+ / 0-)

Plus we need to get the message out that we fought for extended unemployment insurance and that the stimulus saved millions of jobs and that had it been bigger, but for the Rethugs fighting it, millions more would have been saved.

We've compromised and "negotiated" and caved in so much, that nobody trusts us anymore to do or accomplish anything.  We couldn't even pass a goddamn public-option that had 70% public support at a time when we had filibuster-proof majorities in both chambers--and instead we sold out and turned it into a corporate welfare bill.

We had out best chance for decades to accomplish something.  We sold out and blew it.

We thoroughly deserve the thrashing we are about to get.  I hope it at least teaches us something.

        •  Sadly you are correct. (0+ / 0-)

The only quarrel I would have is that actually I believe RK2/DK poll had support of a robust public option at 80%, but our leaders still did not have the ability to pass it. An opportunity to insure everyone regardless of cost, but because it is a basic people powered human right was lost.

      •  The more desperate Rs get, the more passing (0+ / 0-)

climate change in particular gets done on the day Hell Freezes Over and We Dance on the Ice. Lame duck, maybe, but before the election where they've wagered everythign on the fact that climate change is a hoax, nuh-uh, no matter how much of northern Russia burns clear from the heat.
