  •  Our political system is so skewed right (0+ / 0-)

now; the Democratic Party contains a diverse group from
the left to center right, in short all the moderates to
progressives.  The Republican Party contains the totally
off the wall ideologues that believe in 1) neocon
politics, 2) rabid randian economic theories, and/or

    1. cultural ("right to life", prejudice, homophobic).

The problem with this is the reality that the "Repubs"
will not cooperate or be bipartisan.  And the Dems will
not be able to come together to get an agenda done.  I
believe in the long run it would be better to let the
Democratic Party split into two factions.  I would
rather have a Republican Party that contains the
conservatives and pushes the right wing to the very
fringes of the Party than the way it is now; and I
would rather have a Democratic Party built on the
social programs of the past than the Democratic Party
    since the 1980's.
