  •  First, my heartfelt condolonces (9+ / 0-)

on your senior Senator, but mine are dumb and dumber, Isakson and Saxby "Shameless" Chambliss, so I do understand the pain.

And the bigger storms, more energy in the air, more moisture, bigger lows,  and changes in the jet stream mean that your Senator will get to build more igloos, now fewer in Washington DC.   Your state on the other hand will see even harsher temperature variations for a state that already tends to have huge swings, I personally would consider giving Oklahoma high marks in 'nastiest winter storms, worst droughts and heat waves in the summer', contest even before global warming became a well known term.

...and the tornados are kinda frightening (though the we get excellent advance warnings and the chances of one hitting you are very, very small).

But we have long and lovely falls and springs.

And the winters are mild (with the exception of the occasional ice storm every couple years).

There are plenty of things to complain about living in Oklahoma, but other than the summer, weather really isn't one of them.

and you get colder temperatures and more snow than we get, and the wind blows more when big fronts come in, and if it snows much more than a fraction of an inch more than once or twice a winter, that's too much.

...but we get very, very little (this last winter was a major exception). In general, we'll get two or three measurably snowy days over the course of the winter. And each time, it'll melt in a day or two.

I totally share your attitude toward snow.

I'm a native Northern Californian and, consequently, a complete weather wimp. Anything colder than 50ºF or hotter than 80ºF seems unreasonable and uncomfortable to me.
