    I am ashamed of this country. I live near Canada, and I make sure they know we are not all a bunch of Yahoo Right Wing Robots. That young man will never get those years back.

    •  The Supreme Court of Canada ruled earlier this (0+ / 0-)

      year that Khadr's human rights were violated under the Charter of Rights (a Canadian statue vaguely similar to your Constitution); the Canadian government did nothing to ameliorate this violation.
      They have refused to repatriate him or do anything else for him (at the behest of the US government, I am sure).

      And today the judge in the military commission ruled that Khadr's confession, taken while he claims he was being tortured and mistreated by his captors, is admissible.
