  •  Well the Overwhelming Best Way to Capture Public (8+ / 0-)

imagination is to transform a big chunk of ordinary people into energy producers, as Germany did.

Essentially every other alt energy program is at best spectator sport and in many cases some kind of potential sacrifice for most people.

This issue is like health reform, it's a huge fuss to do something we're already doing because of threats that aren't urgent in the lives of most people. That's why I favor the home/biz solar so much, for positively engaging potentially so many people.

    •  I'd say that energy efficiency (0+ / 0-)

as in an energy audit of every residential and commercial building in America followed by construction crews following up to retrofit buildings (insulation, lighting, more efficient air conditioning/heating) is not only what a recent study cited as the "low-hanging fruit" in terms of carbon reduction, but at minimum, millions of jobs.

Too bad our political class is only interested in creating jobs at hedge funds in the USA for Americans and creating the "less important" jobs in China.
