  •  Maybe If Obama did more to help Democrats (0+ / 0-)

He wouldnt be getting attacked by them.  Obama refused to attack Republicanism in the 2008 campaign and help other Democrats win.  Now, its coming back to him now and probably in 2012.  It was kind of like in 1972 when Richard Nixon did nothing to help elect Republicans besides himself that year and when it was time to support Nixon or possibly impeach him, many Republicans said "Nixon did nothing to help us so we wont help him".

This ad is not attacking him becasue he hasn't supported Dems, or attacked Republicans. The candidate is distancing himself from the "establishment Dems" because his constituents want him to be more "independent" and his opponents would wrap any connection to the "DC elites" around his neck until he was strangled.

"I want to apologize for that misconstrued misconstruction." Rep Joe Barton

The Democratic party has an agenda and they intend to enact it.  He is either part of the process or he is part of the problem we're trying to solve.

This is not to say that he shouldn't have legitimate criticism of the party but this is not the way you voice that.
