  •  If a 401k is good enough for you, you (0+ / 0-)

    value yourself very lightly.

We need to stop going halfway around the world to wage war on people who don't even change out of their jammies to fight us.

Four key things with a 401K are:

      1. No one can fudge about what it costs.  You and your employer know exactly what it is costing each year.
      1. It is 100% portable - no vesting, no penalties for leaving, etc.  Which is good because I've worked for almost 10 companies in the 20 years since I graduated.
      1. I control it and the IRAs I have rolled 401Ks into.  I decide what investment mix I want.  I am not at the mercy of trustees I have no control over.
      1. If my company or former company goes under it's no skin off my back - I have my retirement fund under my control.  I can never get screwed like GM's management retirees did.
