    for a hundred years or so would be hugely useful IMO...this would then allow for the other carbon sinks to re-equilibrate and perhaps be better able to grab this carbon as it comes back out.

    Unfortunately, I think we're to the point of playing catch-up to an accelerating train...we'll keep finding new ways to reduce emissions or sequester greenhouse gases, but never fast enough to mitigate the climate change in ways that we will need.

    Maybe I'm just being unduly pessimistic today...I certainly hope so!  :)
