  •  Legal wonks are going to be ecstatic! (6+ / 0-)

This thing is going to have to maneuver through so many tricky issues.

There's really no way to predict what is the best course for either side. I think it will come down to how badly the conservatives on SCOTUS want to manufacture the outcome they want (like Dale v. Boy Scouts and Bush v. Gore).

Most analysts think Walker targetted this at Justice Kennedy. It should be very interesting! I'll be on pins and needles until it's over.

    •  I actually think we could win at the Supremes... (4+ / 0-)

after all, they've been singing for us for years! <g>

Walker's opinions are so wonderfully crafted,
Kennedy has to duck all the roses being thrown his
      way! <g>

And Walker just quotes SCOTUS like they were real thinkers!

But, I sure am nervous... totally agree about the pins
      and needles.

Would be great to have the marriages begin again, however. Hope that's what happens on Wed. Then we
can jot and tittle forever about standing!

    •  Well, Kennedy seems to agree with the logic (7+ / 0-)

Kennedy showed signs of it when he was on the 9th Circuit himself and since joining the Court, he's been a supporter of the rational basis with bite sort of analysis employed by the equal protection part of Walker's ruling. Keep our fingers crossed.
