  •  I fear you misread ... (5+ / 0-)

    lots of Independents.

Many of the ones I know are not upset that Obama has been 'too liberal', they are upset that he has been too conservative and succumbed to the siren songs of the right.

If it's served to us and it's unpalatable but we smack our lips like it is the best thing we ever ate, how will the chef know to change the dish?

Sen. Reid is no different than the Republicans who demagogue the issue. He's no different than Sarah Palin, Steve King, Rush Limbaugh. Enjoy the company.

on the integrity of the polling service and the wording of the question.

Like "Have Obama's liberal policies caused you to no longer approve of his job performance as President?".

Yeah, we know how the polls are also tools ...

as a gauge, then many Indpendents are left-leaning.

If you use Afghanistan and Iraq as a gauge, same thing.

        Bunch of other issues too.

And Obama is basically doing exactly what he said he'd do regarding Iraq and Afghanistan.

...most independents are Republicans who are embarrassed to admit it.

The "independents" who vote left are the Naderite types...

LANDO REID: This deal keeps getting worse all the time!

who have succumbed to the siren songs of the right.  Too much "socialist, nazi, communist, Muslim, alien, anti-American, want our country back" screaming, highlighted by our media, has affected many of these politically soft voters.

      •  Now those aren't ... (0+ / 0-)

        independents, those actually are Republicans.

has done an analysis of who Independents really are.  There must be studies out there.

            •  There probably isn't any consensus (0+ / 0-)

since "Independent" covers everybody from firebrand Socialists to goose-stepping Kluxers, and some stuff that's off the charts altogether (like my suggested "Clothespin Movement"?).

              If it's
              Not your body
              Then it's
              Not your choice
              AND it's
              None of your damn business!
