    player in all discussions/debates on things of this nature. And human nature is nothing if not insecure. It seeks acceptance and isn't shy of fighting for it. And it doesn't use the Marquis of Queensbury rules.

    I characterized it to myself through much of my early life as the odd (and entirely untenable) situation of people really, truly believing that if they could just force every knee to bend to their own chosen 'truths', it would magically make their chosen 'truths' more True. That was in a religious context, of course, but in the decades since I've come to recognize the same dynamic at work in all areas of emotionally-invested belief. A human thing, not just a religious/spiritual thing.

    Now, more than ever, we need the Jedi.
