There are survivors with dreadful health problems and more keep turning up because it can take years before effects of  the toxic dust (asbestos, etc.) are felt.

I've sat with some of these patients. They did heroic things and now they need help.

As for the hysteria about Muslims in downtown Manhattan, there has been so much hype in the media that I have to explain to my fellow New Yorkers what the basic facts are. It's not a mosque and it will be lost on a side street beneath taller buildings in a nothing of a neighborhood closer to City Hall than to where the World Trade Center was.

    •  I'm the Hero Who Pays, Where's My Health Care (0+ / 0-)

I love it the way there's some sort of patriotic litmus test established by these policies which dictates who gets to be on the bus and who gets to be under the bus when it comes to health care.

Spare me the 'no skin in the game' response.  My sweat and blood is the skin in the game and is in front of my face in black and white every two weeks on my tax withohding statement.  Health care should not be doled out based upon a patriotic litmus test.

Firemen will always rush in to dangerous situations to save lives but unless first responders of all types are are cared for adequately............I don't know.

I agree that nobody should be thrown under the bus about helathcare but the biggest waste item in your taxes is bloated, unnecessary, and corrupt military-industrial complex..........with a pittance for human needs.
