  •  More multinational oil company corruption... (5+ / 0-)

this illustrates why I will never again purchase a gasoline-powered vehicle or lawn mower.

I'll never throw good money at these immoral and corrupting bastards again.

but I also purchase offsets via tree nation or atmosfair and - as soon as an airline offers me carbon neutral travel with biosynfuels from sustainable production - I will only fly with them.

That's still another 5 to 10 years away, though.  :/

    •  By an OLD lawnmower. (0+ / 0-)

Simple internal combustion engines do consume a lot of petrol, but you can feed them most anything that's (i) organic, (ii) liquid, and (iii) flammable, from what I hear tell.

      •  Petrol lawnmowers are incredibly polluting (4+ / 0-)

They pump out about the same amount of pollutants in one hour of operation as a car pumps out in 16 hours of operation because of their incredibly wasteful engines and lack of exhaust filtration.

I'm going electric with the lawnmower(plus a pushmower for the easy areas) - my electricity provider only produces 100% renewables, so electric is the way to go for me.
