  •  How to make that point without offending? (1+ / 0-)

I'm talking about the eighty-somethings, who as a group, are very vulnerable to any scare tactic or unscrupulous "deals".  I think it's a very real problem and one that could cost us the election.  The very old are scared to death of death panels and the socialist in the White House.  My husband is a financial planner and almost every one of his older (over 80) clients have expressed fear and anxiety.  I believe it's coming mostly from Fox.  So, sorry if that offended, I'm not much younger than you BTW.  I meant those much older seniors.

Fake News has us all confused!

saying "eighty-somethings" in the first place, instead of "average age 65".

Very old people have plenty of reason to be scared in general - failing health, failing strength, failing senses, all of which make them prey to various forms of victimization (not only political). If you add in technological change that must appear to them as happening at lightspeed, it's no wonder they're easy prey.

I hope I live to be that age without getting too scared (no kids to look out for us). But no matter how scared I may get, I'll never watch Fox.;^)

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
