  •  Average age 65. They are intentionally scaring (4+ / 0-)

the elderly.  My mother in law, a lifelong NY Times reader and catholic, but IMHO racist, is now an O'Reilly fan.  She's 83, blind, and very, very, frightened and angry.  You shouldn't go out of this world like that.  I tried telling Hubby's family that it was probably watching Fox that's doing it but that didn't go well.  Suddenly, any racist thing "Mom" says is perfectly fine.  They should be called out on this issue...scaring the elderly.  And I don't mean to imply that all seniors are scared...just the ones watching Fake News.

Fake News has us all confused!

though she always had a bit of a racist streak -- she just kept it in better when she was younger. Only thing that kept her from being a FOX News viewer is that she was too cheap to get cable; she listened to all the right-wing blatherers though -- first thing the spouse and I did when we got her car after she was too sick to drive was to reprogram the stations on the radio presets (replaced the two right-wing talk stations with sports talk -- we know our priorities).
