    for the rulers of the various "socialist" contender states, as to how best to promote "socialism" while at the same time resisting inclusion into the webs of domination promoted by the imperialist states.

     Eventually the community of revolutionaries came around to risking the identity of socialist experiments in democratic voting -- and this is the difference between Castro's Cuba, which persists to this day, and the Nicaragua of the FSLN, which lost power and regained it but is no longer in any serious sense "socialist."  Chavez's Venezuela is the best test case for the new theory.
