    •  Boring is completely underrated. (5+ / 0-)

Until we break the corporate virtual monopoly on what we hear and see, we keep losing, don't matter what we do.

      •  There's not a whole lot to tell... (5+ / 0-)
        1. a developer proposed an offshore wind farm 40 miles north of Muskegon.
        1. Some wealthy lake side land owners freaked
        1. We started a Facebook group mockingly saying "Muskegon will take the three billion dollar wind project off your hands"
        1. Thousands of people joined
        1. We organized calls to the developers asking them to move the project to Muskegon.
        1. The developers were non-committal for months. And then with heavy headwinds from the anti-folks to the north, they revised their proposl to include Muskegon and Ottawa counities...with an on-shore farm in Muskegon thrown in for good measure
        1. And now we're just trying to keep Muskegon a safe haven of support for these and other developers.

The county just put the on-shore development up for bid...so now the original developers need to compete.

But so far...there's been scarce opposition to these things here.

Fill in the "Tuesday 8 a.m. we figured to get a list from..." kind of details. Let people know what and where the elbow-grease was applied to.

Little anecdotes about "Sally remembered and then called..."

You've been building a wonderful model for grassroots action, apart from your own main task. I think it can be so useful for others to see.

Not to ask you to do more work than you can handle, or to take away from your primary task. I'm asking just because I'm seeing a real "how-to" in your experience.

Forgive me if I'm pushing this too much. I'd hate to make you feel more pressure in your life, as the task you've got already is certainly very demanding.
