      he Nazis saw the Jews as more of an ethnicity and a political/economic force than a religion.
      But I'm open to being schooled on this.

        There are deep political and economic undercurrents behind everything, including the rise and fall of despicable ideologies. I'm wary of taking too many steps backwards and saying "well, it looked like religious persecution, but here are some underlying causes..." at a certain point, it is useful to look at it at face value. The underlying causes are important and very interesting, but reason enough to dismiss the other interpretations.

      which you're not - the Nazis saw Jews expressly as a racial category, which is why they selected victims by bloodline, not observance - would hardly be an argument for any house of worship.
