ex husband on Wall Street I would not totally agree with the assumption that most bankers and brokers are Christians or Jews, maybe in Reagan days but now now. They are international global equal opportunistic rapers and pillagers.

Most people I ever came into contact with their only real religion is the pursuit of money. Bernie Madoff being Jewish didn't make him any more moral!!!! and I think it a bit insulting to assume that because he is Jewish he is natuarally and ethnically and stereotypically a Shylock

Plus this 'mosque' business has morphed into attacks on Muslim cab drivers, arson of mosques in other parts of the country. There is little to be precise about this spreading scourge inmo and is heading into a widespread epidemic of Islamaphobia not restricted to this one 'precise' event!.

being mostly Christians and Jews was a bit of snark, but I'm pretty sure that statistically, the guys on Wall Street are mostly Christian and Jewish, just like the rest of the country.  I'm sure that atheists and agnostics are represented there too, in numbers roughly equivalent to their representation in the general population.  I just get a little piqued when people suggest, intentionally or unintentionally, that nonbelievers are morally deficient compared to believers.  Christians are abundant and overrepresented in our prisons compared to nonbelievers.

Anyway, I'm getting off my soapbox now...

However one last piece of information I would like to share. This morning i watched an enlightening panel discussion on CSPAN conducted by the Muslim Congressional Staff Association that included the head of the Arab American League, Dr. James Zogby, a Christian Maronite.

It was extrmely educational and was based on the 'The Image of Muslims in America' which suffer from the same simplistic stereotypes as those for Christians and Jews.

I consider it my obligation to learn as much as I can about the way people self identify and what hurdles they face as American citizens in practising their faith, and that includes atheists, agnostics and secular humanists, universalists, animists and every religious faith under the sun.

        Thank you for the conversation.
