I have a suggestion. If I irritate you don't bother to either read or respond to me. Use your mental remote and tune me out. Save yourself some aggravation unless of course criticizing and being mean turns you on and gives you your kicks.

No skin off my nose.  We all have pet hates and putting labels on people happens to be one of mine, i am sure you have plenty too. If finding ME irritating is one of them you must have a pretty barren existence though.

You responded to a comment that had nothing to do with you and you admonished me for an argument that I did not make, i.e., a strawman:

Noone(sic) is absolutely any ONE thing

Show me where I said that.  I'll save you the trouble, you can't because I didn't.

It doesn't turn me on nearly as much as it apparently turns you on:

all this parsing of labels and their meanings is irritating and inaccurate...

you must have a pretty barren existence though...

      Project much?

      •  No, I am merely trying to understand (0+ / 0-)

peoples pain and people's vision, and become a better person.

        •  How? (0+ / 0-)

I am merely trying to understand peoples pain...

How, by adding to it?  How does criticizing and being mean help you with that?

You should take your own advice:

If I irritate you don't bother to either read or respond to me.

Why did you bother to respond to me in the first place?  My comment wasn't directed at you and had nothing to do with you.  If you think you can do a drive-by insult and then say that if it irritates me I shouldn't respond, you've got another thing coming.

Let's go back to your originaly reply because I want to know:

all this parsing of labels and their meanings is irritating and inaccurate.

Inaccurate you say?  How so?  Because those definitions came out of a frickin' dictionary:

atheism: a disbelief in the existence of deity

agnosticism: one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god

I didn't put a label on anyone, I merely clarified what another commenter stated.  How was I inaccurate?

          •  As part of my effort to understand (0+ / 0-)

the resurgence of religion as a wedge issue in American politics this morning i watched a very educational and enlightening panel discussion on CSPAN on the 'The Image of Muslims in America'. It included several well known spokespeople for the Arab American community including Dr. James Zogby, the Maronite Christian leader of the Arab American league, plus several other spokespeople including the woman head of a Muslim Women's Rights group.

I would urge anyone who is able to try and pull the program out of CSPAN's archives, it is well worth the effort.

It was held under the auspices of the Muslim Congressional Staff Association.  It helped clarify many aspects of the debate for me and what lies at the root of the current Muslim/Christian/Jewish battle for supremacy.

            •  That's a non-sequitur (0+ / 0-)

              You didn't answer the question.

              •  I have absolutely no intention of continuing this (0+ / 0-)

discussion on this personal level. Have a good day.

                •  Gee, I wonder why... (0+ / 0-)

First of all, there isn't anything "personal" about this discussion.  You made an unsolicited false accusation ("inaccurate"), I challenged you to defend it and you can't.  So you are taking your marbles and going home rather than doing the honorable thing and admitting that you were wrong.

                  I can't say that I am surprised.
