    Isn't that exactly what's been going on for two years now. It's mindboggling: putting Republican-lite people like Baucus, Conrad and even Durbin on the commission. I say it's a done deal. At minimum, the retirement age is going up; and the Democratic Party is going down... for the final count.

      they've been carrying out a very slow, agonizing form of suicide. Cutting SS benefits is the political equivalent of signing up to become a Kamikaze pilot - a much quicker death.

      I really hope you're wrong, but it is becoming extremely difficult to hold out hope for sanity and decency.
