Pelosi has already promised to bring it to the floor, so the presidents hands might be tied.

How can "it" be brought to a vote?  The commission is not writing a piece of legislation.

How might the President's hands be tied?  He can just pitch the report in his garbage can if he doesn't like what it says.

What I expect President Obama to do is to take the report and from it develop a series of budget requests which he will forward to Congress.  And then Congress will work the ones they like into legislation, on which they will vote.

Take a good look at Barrack Obama, the man.  Is he someone who does things to make things worse for the ordinary person?

      Haven't heard back from you...

      The hypocrisy, it burns...

If Health Insurance Reform can wait until 2015, then so can any changes to Social Security.

        Now you have.

This virtually guarantees that Obama would have to send this to congress, regardless of what he thinks.

Everything I write is within a margin of error of precisely 100%.

        •  I don't think you read that carefully... (0+ / 0-)

          You missed this part...

the House will vote on the deficit commission’s recommendations in the lame duck session if they pass the Senate.

          "if they pass the Senate"

That does not say that the commission report will go to either the House or Senate for a vote.

It simply says that if the Senate passes some sort of budget adjusting vote Pelosi has left an opportunity for the House to vote on it before the end of the session.

The FDL article is simply misleading. There is nothing in the commission charter that says that the report will be sent to Congress for action.

That Obama would have to send the report to Congress is absolutely false.  Congress does not have the authority to demand that to happen.
