    back during Apollo, but its been far too long for that to make an impact these days.  

    Thats why I am particularly excited about Commercial Spaceflight - that I think will attract a lot of people into the industry

      One of my professors in college (long retired) told me that when he was in grad school in 1966, everyone wanted to take the aerospace classes.  I've never heard anyone younger than that express that sentiment.

      not ultimately sourced to the taxpayers then I agree strongly with this.

      If "commercial" space ends up being little more than a different way for NASA/Congress to buy rockets then not so much and it will end up being "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" as the sellers of EELV bloat out their contracts.

      But therefore NewSpace needs to accept that entertainment business models (which includes as a subset tourism and selling advertising) will likely be the only viable non-taxpayer based revenue streams in the short and medium term.
