    I read here once that Wal*Mart markets 30% of the consumer manufacturing from China. Even if it is less than that, that's still a strong share. I suspect that would include stores outside the US as well. Still, that would have repercussions if the demand was cut substantially.

    Having All American stores would be good, although that sounds like something that the net could do better as an aggregator or portal. Lot of capital costs in setting up a store front.

    This global trade is also a major consumer of fossil fuels.
