    Teabagger base makes demands, gets a little bit of movement on those demands, goes nuts with joy, and redoubles their efforts on behalf of their candidates.

    Progressive base makes demands, gets a little bit of movement on those demands, goes "Screw you, this is NOWHERE near good enough" and quits.

    "The future of man is not one billion of us fighting over limited resources on a soon-to-be dead planet. . .I won't go back into the cave for anyone."

        The so-called "progressive base" that doesn't give a shit about those things means something different by "progressive" than I do.

        The base has gotten some movement forward on just about every issue they've asked for.

        But because it's not enough movement forward for them, they appear to be perfectly happy to turn power over people who will take us backwards on every issue the base cares about.

        Explain to me how that makes ANY sense whatsoever.
