    but I'd reiterate, for the average person, only 2% of cones are blue-sensitive. Over 60% are red-sensitive, and the rest green.

    I guess at low light levels (rod-dominated) it does make sense that you'd pick up blue stronger. Blue's more energetic so it will trigger rods easier.

    The scattering's an interesting point - in non-biological optics you don't put scattering materials in lens assemblies... but the eye's full of fluid. Hadn't really considered that. And being someone who wears strong eyeglasses, I know all about chromatic aberation. Purple drives me nuts.
