    ... each suburban area and the metropolitan area and state that they are located in whether or note they become a slum, or retain their viability.

    Some will fail to make the choices that prevent an area from becoming a slum, and those that do will see more and more abandoned properties that fall to ruin. And of course, there is likely to be regional migration shifts, and some areas that lose population will require downsizing of their metropolitan housing stock in any event ... and in that case, they may well end up clustered around the corridors where it had been most convenient to place oil-independent transport corridors.
