Some of those comments were valid, regardless of the reason this covert agent posted them. Conway is far from the progressive ideal. This site is promoting him because Rand Paul is insanely regressive. But pressure on Conway to be a better Democrat, like dropping his fight to keep the Bush tax cuts for the richest, is important too.

If we purge everyone except those in lockstep agreement, we'll really have a Democratic Party indistinguishable from the Republican Party, including in its small membership among voters.

        No I didn't, nor did I say I did.

        You are an idiot.

        •  You just said the guy's points were valid... (8+ / 0-)

...and he was actively working for the Republicans.

Does this not strike you as cognitive dissonance?

I just said that some of the comments were valid. When that idiot said that I had recommended some of that other idiot's comments, I rejected that idiotic charge, because it was false.

You can't see the difference between the two? You don't realize that even a political enemy can make occasional valid points?

Before you start talking about cognitive dissonance, you should better appreciate the complexity of cognitive consonance.

          •  No cognitive dissonance. It's easy enough to pose (3+ / 0-)

as someone or something you're not in a brief comment on a blog. I'm sure many Kossacks could establish a "credible" identity on Redstate, say things that would garner oodles of "burning swastikas" or whatever they call the mojo-equivalent there. Piece of rancid cake.

I know, this is totally an isolated incident, and we need to be so vigilant about not overplaying this, because people like Rand Paul do have good ideas sometimes.

          Bleh.

This republican staffer knew exactly what to say to the "progressives" at this site. He had them eating out of his hand when he didn't overplay his anti-Conway astroturfing:

But the Democrats need a more powerful message than "we're not them!" While it's important to emphasize how devastating it would be for the GOP to regain control, it is even more important to give voters a reason FOR supporting them. IE show some guts like Al Franken or Alan Grayson!

I think the house will barely flip, and the senate will remain Dem but come close.

I really, really hope the DNC doesn't try to go more conservative to reverse the tide.

Progressive enthusiasm is what got them their last few sweeps!

Good candidates like McAdams should take precedence over conservative DINOs like Lincoln and Conway.

supported "keeping the Bush tax cuts for the richest."

      Damn.

How the hell did this get lodged so deeply in some people's mind?

Conway has ALWAYS said he thought the tax cuts SHOULD EXPIRE.

But, recently he has come out in support of 3 groups who should not see tax increase for the immediate future and those MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS and SMALL BUSINESS.

Let's clarify this that Conway favors an extension of those tax cuts DURING THIS ECONOMIC RECESSION and not permanent tax cuts.
