In case you haven't notice.  I'm not saying it's Obama's fault, and I'm not saying things wouldn't be worse of the Repugs were in power.  But people are frustrated, and even Obama thought things would be improving by now, but they aren't. The only thing that's going to save Obama and the Dems is an improved economy, not great speeches.

Great speeches could save the democratic party.

But these need to be strong and damning of the republicans. Just "hopey and dreamy" will not cut it.

Seriously right now this election is not about the future. Its about the past. The ax is going to fall on someone. The American people right now have hate in and fear in our hearts. The best political move right now is to point that like a loaded weapon and let it go off on the repubs.. Now if Obama just had the courage to do that..... I "hope" he does

...that might be his best bet.  Unfortunately in previous speeches/interviews he has taken "ownership" of the economy already.  This was a tactical mistake as it makes all Bush's failures his now, in the eyes of the public at least.

    •  I agree 100% (0+ / 0-)

he needs to stop with the golf and the vacations and really work to at least give the appearance he's working 24/7 to turn things around.

      •  Why in the world should he discontinue (4+ / 0-)

his private life.  Would you have said that about any other President.  He has a personal life that includes small children.

        •  I certainly did say that about Bush! (0+ / 0-)

He set the record for most vacation days taken by a president.  I'm just saying that there are a lot of people working their fingers to the bone, myself included, who are making a lot less $  than the president.  Watching news reports of his golf outings and vacations doesn't help him going into mid-terms.  Is that fair? Probably not, but that's politics.
