  •  Today is a reminder for many things (14+ / 0-)

And if I may use the opportunity to remind everyone:

Know how to get out of your building. Workplace and home - know where the stairs/exits are, where they come out of the building (street, alley, another stair), and where another set of stairs/exits are in case you can't use your first choice. And if there's a fire drill - take it seriously. Please.

Have a plan. Tell people your plan. If you can't get your car out of the garage, how will you get home? If you can't go home, which friend will you stay with? Does your school have two emergency contacts for your kids in case you can't get there? Do you know what your school's emergency plan is? What your workplace's plan is?

These aren't just useful in case of a 9/11 type disaster. Fires, water main breaks, major storms, a big wreck that closes a major highway - take a few minutes today to think about how you would handle a big disruption like that.

If we want to cut off funding to the terror mosque, we must, together as a nation, stop watching Fox. --Jon Stewart
