    Reminds me of a scene where he knocked over a lady in a walker to escape a "burning" apartment.

    I was going to say about traffic courtesy mentioned by the diarist that in a lot of places I have lived it is the usual mode of operation. Around here when I am with my bicycle club we are constantly given the right of way by drivers who don't have to give it so we can get across a street, turn left, etc. Self-organized merging of cars at choke points is also the norm. Even after concerts with hundreds of cars trying to leave a parking lot all at once it seems to happen most of the time. Perhaps I've just been lucky.

    Moderation in most things. Except Reactors. IFR forever!

      when I've been crossing the street with my mother-in-law in her wheelchair; sometimes people will stop their important business and let their better angels come through. (Though some are still a bit clueless, like the ones who wave us across the street but they're blocking the sidewalk ramp on the other side.)
