    a coordinated effort to preserve the language.  so many are being lost.  My grandfather forbade it, so my father never learned it (beyond a few words and phrases), so I've had to work at learning it as an adult - which, of course, is much harder.  Ojibwa has said that he did not grow up with it, either.

    Mr. Aji is Tiwa, and the language is oral only.  In a way, that's been a blessing, because it's still passed down from birth in most families.
