  •  Does ONWT have any new ideas? (1+ / 0-)

I was excited to see all the organizations involved in ONWT (I never heard of it before) but wonder if it is stuck in the past.

The Tea Party has made a huge impact with a handful of activists demonstrating at the right time for maximum media coverage.

Obama got elected utilizing new communication technology.

This ONWT event looks like it will get minimal coverage with no message. I imagine it is controlled by old folks of past glory.

The Tea Party is in the news everyday. Why doesn't this group hire some consultants, get a message that works, and start getting in the news everyday?

The Tea Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of rich Republicans and Glenn Beck.  They are not on tv because of their ideas.  They're certainly not on tv because of their turnout.  (Jon Stewart had a great send-up of tv coverage of a Tea Party rally that had... zero attendees.)

They're on tv because it suits the needs of the rich and right-wing that they be there.

Now, does the left need work on getting more media attention?  Absolutely.  But let's not pretend for a split second that it's a meritocratic system, or that it serves the needs of anybody who is rich and powerful that we be seen.

... that was a real Tea Party, that had zero attendees.  And yet, there was the news (Fox, I assume), really covering it.
