Tell me after watching this video, allowing this people to be in-charge of our Government ...

Doesn't the Dem leadership already shape their actions to appease these people?

But if we let them get the key to the house, it will mean we gave them a life support which we need to ensure does not happen.

    •  Demographics (6+ / 0-)

The problem with the perception, which is really based on watching TV, that "Democrats are appeasing the right wing" is that it ignores the realities of actually winning elections.

If you have to try to win an election, you have to focus, precinct by precinct, on the demographics of the voters and an assessment of where they are at.

It doesn't do any good to dismiss voters who need to be persuaded as fools.  They will vote against you and that will be that.

The great issue in Washington and in all the statehouses as well is how to move from an electorate that voted for George Bush a few years back, to a more progressive place.

That is a vast problem.  What people who don't grasp that this is the proper end of the telescope to be looking through are not getting is that the argument is with the swing voter population.

Who are they?  How can they be reached?  Those are the questions.

hope that the idiots who have no constructive and creative solutions but only look to tear down will not win the day.
