    Which is actually a good thing.  Yes, back then people got discharged because someone thought they were gay, but while DADT changed that, it did so as a matter of legislation, which means the Executive branch can't change it.  We live in a whole different world then pre-DADT.  Once DADT is gone, Obama can make an Executive order to give equality to LGBT troops, just as Harry Truman did in 1948.  Granted, it would take a little while to get it implemented, but the discharges would probably end immediately.
