The cement pressure test on the DDIII relief well was completed at 5:54 a.m. CDT.

No word on the delay. I doubt there was any in the actual testing. The delay was in interpreting ambiguous results. I'm not saying just this test was ambiguous. I'm saying most such tests are to some extent ambiguous -- some more than others.

What they've cemented here and the way they did it is almost never done. On a well this big, it HAS never been done. All other cementing of reservoirs at reservoirs, has been done on already depleted, dead or near-dead wells.

    1. There are no recent examples of plugs like this or P&As like this on undepleted wells with these downhole pressures and deliverability.
    1. There are no examples, EVER, of plugs like this or P&As like this on undepleted wells with these downhole pressures and deliverability, this deep in either rock or ocean.

What they've just done is not a tried and true methodology, so its test cannot be standard.

Listen to what the government and BP are saying. The media doesn't listen. BP and the government didn't call this well dead after Static Kill or after that initial cement job. The news media did. BP and the government are not calling it dead now. The news media is. SOME people in the news media are nearly congratulating themselves that the well is dead, just as if they themselves killed it.

Some TV reporters went to the Gulf months and months ago and have been there ever since. What sacrifice! Listen. This wasn't exactly fucking Afghanistan. It wasn't even Katrina. They've  stayed in the best hotels and ate the best food and have drawn salaries in the millions. Poor babies.

Anne Thompson is not one of my heroes.

It rubs the loofah on its skin or else it gets the falafel again.
