  •  I'm not sure how capitulating and (0+ / 0-)

selling out on everything, helps us get to 60 votes.

I can see fighting for the very best, losing on your feet, and letting everyone see that we can't get it because we don't have 60 votes, might help.

But I sure can't see how pre-compromising and surrendering on absolutely everything, losing on your knees, does.

    Explain, please?

    •  The choices are: (0+ / 0-)
      1. Getting a compromise bill.
      1. Getting nothing.

You apparently are in favor of nothing.  Lovely.  Like it or not 60 votes means that Lieberman and Nelson and the Maine Twins and Brown matter, and even in the House sometimes the Blue Dogs can get together and block stuff.

Fighting for a good bill, losing honorably while fighting for it, and inspiring enough people to fight for it again to PASS it next time.

Instead we get a compromise bill that nobody wants to defend and nobody wants to vote for the people who pushed it on us.

        Good job.
