Had he voted against the Baucus bill?

He's losing. He's won in the past. His positive / negative numbers suck.

Do you really believe that he's lost the liberals because he voted for the Baucus bill - that they are now voting for Johnson? Don't be silly.

He's lost the middle, and he's lost it because he's perceived as too liberal.

    •  Too liberal? (0+ / 0-)

He's always been perceived that way.  Hasn't stopped him from winning before.

      •  So what's changed? (0+ / 0-)

He's lost Obama Democrats. He hasn't lost the left.

By not voting with Obama, he has pissed off some Democrats, and won no Republicans.

First of all, he's voted with Obama 99% of the time.  Even for his corporate-friendly health insurance bill.  What's changed, at least according to this poll, is that he's attracting fewer independents than previously.

He has voted with Obama about as often as McCaskill and Lincoln.

That is the one single fact that you are studiously avoiding. He's voted against bills because they were insufficiently liberal, and people on the ground in Wisconsin have commented herein that he is perceived as a prima donna as a result.

            •  He's always done that (0+ / 0-)

And he often voted for Bush cabinet appointments because he believes presidents should have the right to appoint whom they want.

Where is the evidence that he has voted with Obama as often as Lincoln?  And where is the evidence that Democrats are not supporting him because he has been insufficient supportive of Obama?

as a bit of research would show, since this was examined in depth and in detail in the major newspaper in Wisconsin just this week.
