The House has 435 members, so 218 is a majority.

Currently the House is 255D-178R, with two vacancies.

A Republican gain of 26 gives them 204 seats, and leaves them 14 short of a majority.

A gain of 38 gives them 216 seats, and leaves them two short of a majority.

In the latter case, Speaker Pelosi would have almost no margin for error. But at least she'd still be Speaker Pelosi.

Considering how bad things looked a month ago, this glass looks half full to me.

    Prison rape is not funny.
