    and yet when I'm dealing with a depressed person myself I often want to shake them. So I understand how hard it is for people to be around someone depressed. It looks so different on the outside from how it feels on the inside. When you're feeling okay, it's hard to even remember what it was really like. And when you're depressed you really can't remember what it feels like to not be.

    I had a friend who committed suicide when she was 19. Much as I know that if someone could have stopped her she might have recovered and had a good life, another part of me believes that no one ever knew her the way she knew herself. I think it is possible she knew that the pain would never stop.
